Frequently asked questions
Does RIVION include channels?
No. RIVION is only a player. You bring your own M3U playlist from your own provider. We don't host, provide or resell any content.
Where do I find my device MAC?
Open RIVION on your TV. The MAC is shown in Settings at the top and on the Activation tile. You can also scan the QR code there with your phone.
How long does the free trial last?
7 days with all features. Afterwards the app is unlocked with a one-time payment of €4.99 for that device.
Can I use several playlists?
Yes. Upload as many as you like — in the app you switch between them under Settings → Playlists.
My playlist doesn't load
Check the address in a browser first. Some providers block outside connections or limit the number of simultaneous devices. Uploading the content directly (Paste content) also works.
I bought a new TV
A licence is valid for one television only and cannot be transferred to another device. If you replace your TV, a new licence is required for the new device.
Privacy Policy
Last updated:
1. What we process and why
- Device MAC address — used as the device identifier so we know which TV a licence and a playlist belong to. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Device key — a random value created by the app that protects your licence against misuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Licence and trial status — start of the trial period and whether the app has been unlocked. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Playlist data you upload — the name and the address or content of your M3U playlist and, optionally, an EPG address. This is stored so the app can load it on your TV. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Server log data — IP address, time and requested page, stored for a short period for security and troubleshooting. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
2. What we do not do
We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics. We do not create user profiles, we do not sell data, and we do not pass data on to third parties except the processors named below.
3. Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. If you pay, you enter your payment details directly with Stripe; we never see or store your card data. We only receive the confirmation that a payment for a device was successful. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
4. Hosting
Our website and services run on servers of netcup GmbH, Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany. The provider processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
5. How long we keep data
Licence data is kept as long as the licence exists, because it is what unlocks your device. Playlists are kept until you replace or delete them. Server logs are deleted after a short period. Payment records are kept as required by tax law (usually 7–10 years).
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise them, contact us at the address below with your device MAC.
7. Cookies
This website does not set cookies and does not use local storage for tracking. The TV app stores your settings, licence status and playlist only on your own device.

Terms of Use
Last updated:
1. What RIVION is
RIVION is a media player for Smart TVs. It contains no TV channels, streams, films, series or any other content, and it does not provide access to any such content. To use the app you must upload your own playlist (M3U) that you obtained legally from your own provider.
2. Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for the playlists you load and for having the necessary rights to use them. Using the app for illegal content is prohibited. We have no influence on, and accept no responsibility for, the content of playlists supplied by you or third parties.
3. Trial and price
The app can be used free of charge for 7 days with all functions. Afterwards a one-time payment of €4.99 (incl. VAT where applicable) unlocks the app permanently for that one device. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
4. Licence — one TV only
The licence is valid for exactly one television set and is permanently tied to the device (MAC address) used at the time of purchase. A transfer to another or a new television is not possible, and we do not exchange licences if you replace your TV. If you want to use RIVION on a second television, a separate licence is required for that device. Please make sure you enter the correct MAC address before paying.
5. Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU)
You normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. By starting the unlock immediately after payment you expressly agree that we begin performance at once and you acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. Because a free 7-day trial is available beforehand, you can test all functions without any payment.
6. Availability
We do our best to keep the service available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. Playback problems caused by your provider, your playlist or your internet connection are outside our control.
7. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and under mandatory statutory provisions. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations and limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract.
